A 'unique set of circumstances' led to the tragic death of a newborn baby boy just days after his birth, an inquest has heard.

George Dosanjh died at the Royal Stoke University Hospital on December 3 2022, following an emergency caesarean section due to multiple medical complications.

The family of George, from Stafford, had raised several questions regarding his treatment and the decisions made by the medical team during mum Charlotte Hird's challenging labour.

However, an expert witness told the inquest the care provided to both George and Charlotte was in accordance with standard procedures.

Mustafa Sadiq, a consultant at Wirral University Hospital, explained that an unusual combination of factors resulted in a highly complex delivery.
