India assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate confirmed on Wednesday that Dhruv Jurel will feature in the first Test against South Africa, beginning Friday in Kolkata. The young wicketkeeper-batter’s impressive run of form has made his selection a straightforward decision for the team management.

“I would be very surprised if you don’t see Dhruv and Rishabh playing in this Test this week,” ten Doeschate said, indicating that both Dhruv Jurel and Rishabh Pant are set to feature in the playing XI.
