Hotel guests have reportedly been kicked out of rooms around the world after a Marriott partner company Sonder collapsed into bankruptcy.
The sudden shutdown has left holidaymakers stranded from Boston to Dubai , with some understood to be returning to find their belongings stuffed into plastic bags or left in hallways.
Marriott announced on Sunday that its licensing agreement with Sonder was no longer in effect "due to Sonder's default". It said in a statement: "As a result, Sonder is no longer affiliated with Marriott Bonvoy, and Sonder properties are not available for new bookings on Marriott’s channels.
"Marriott’s immediate priority is supporting guests currently staying at Sonder properties and those with upcoming reservations.
