The town of Dallas had a new mayor on Nov. 6.

A Carr Elementary School third-grader took control.

Encouraged by Mayor Hayley Beaty of Dallas, Rylee Behmer tentatively banged a gavel outside the Dallas courthouse to kick off the elementary school's field trip.
