A 17-year-old former Frederick County Public Schools student running in next year’s school board election wants to preserve protections for transgender students districtwide.

Chloe Celeste is a student at Frederick Community College and is studying to be a social worker. She dropped out of Urbana High School and earned her GED diploma in January.
