Athena Goletsos totaled 40 assists for third-seeded St. Mary (Ruth.) in its 3-1 victory against second-seeded St. Benedict’s in the semifinal round of the North Jersey, Non-Public B Tournament in Newark.

St. Mary took the first set, 25-18, then won the second set over St. Benedict’s, 25-19.

St. Benedict’s fought back in the third set to take the win, 25-19. St. Mary surged to a fourth set victory of 25-12 to win its third set overall.

Phoenix Lopez led St. Mary with 12 kills while Makayla George tallied 12 spikes, 11 kills and 11 digs.

Arielle Lopina led St. Benedict’s with 20 assists and 17 digs. Celine Argueta had 11 digs and 10 kills.
