PAWTUCKET – Rhode Island’s largest Thanksgiving Day road race will begin its second decade in a new venue that’s sure to thrill the region’s running community.
Centreville Bank Stadium, which is the home of the second-year Rhode Island FC soccer team, and Run Rhody, which is one of the region’s largest running events companies, announced last Thursday that the 11th annual Rhode Island Family Turkey Trot 5K will take place on Thursday, Nov. 27, at the venue.
In years past, the race had started near City Hall, headed north on Roosevelt Avenue, and made its way onto Charles Street and High Street in Central Falls before looping back to the finish line. The post-race party was also held a few blocks away at Murphy’s Law on George Street.
