An Edinburgh structure that has been branded an 'eyesore' by locals for years may be demolished under new plans.

Argyle House on Lady Lawson Street was constructed back in the '60s in the post-modern brutalist style, and stands at the bottom of Edinburgh Castle. Many residents in Edinburgh will have worked in the building, and it even featured in hit Netflix series Department Q - posing as police headquarters.

CBRE Limited, who submitted the plans to Edinburgh Council, are holding two consultation events on December 2 and January 28. The plans include demolition of the existing building, with redevelopment comprising residential, hotel , and office use.

Commercial spaces, associated open space, car parking, landscaping, and ancillary works are also included in the plans.
