New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the former King of Bhutan, Jigme Singye Wangchuck, and appreciated his lifelong contribution to strengthening the friendship between India and Bhutan. The meeting took place during Modi’s official visit to Bhutan, where he also participated in several events marking the 70th birthday of the former monarch.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Modi expressed his gratitude to the former King for his vision and leadership that helped build the deep trust and cooperation shared by both countries. He also conveyed his best wishes for the King’s good health and happiness. The two leaders discussed various areas of cooperation, including energy, trade, technology, and connectivity.
