About 60 Minerva High School seniors picked up rakes instead of pencils Nov. 7 to take part in the school's Senior Service Day.
Joined by Minerva Local staff and administration, the students assisted retired residents throughout the community with fall yard clean-up.
Student teams raked and bagged leaves, pulled weeds and cleaned out flower and mulch beds to help prepare properties for the upcoming winter. Students assisted with other odd jobs, too, as needed.
