A woman who left four dogs to starve to death in her kitchen has been banned from keeping animals for life. Victoria Blood confessed that that she hadn't fed the dogs for about four weeks after they died at her North East home.

The remains of two of the animals were found in what has been described as a 'thick slurry of faeces' at the property in Collingwood Street, Coundon, Bishop Auckland, by RSPCA Inspector Clare Wilson. She described the incident as the most harrowing she has dealt with during her 16 years with the charity.
