VIRGINIA, USA — Matt Strickler, a former Virginia cabinet secretary and lifelong public servant, has launched his campaign to represent Virginia’s 2nd Congressional District.

A William & Mary graduate and son of a public school teacher, Strickler has held several state and federal roles, including Secretary of Natural and Historic Resources under Governor Ralph Northam. In that position, he led the state’s Chesapeake Bay cleanup efforts, developed Virginia’s first coastal resilience plan, and advanced initiatives to reduce pollution and support clean energy.

Strickler says he’s running to give Southeastern Virginia “an experienced, independent voice” and to “build a fairer economy that works for regular people.”
