Alliance for Democracy (AFORD) Vice President Timothy Mtambo has distanced himself from reports linking him to planned protests, describing the claims as “cheap propaganda” aimed at tarnishing his image.
“Please leave me alone; stop the cheap propaganda!” Mtambo said in a statement issued this week.
He clarified that his focus remains on supporting the Peter Mutharika administration and helping address the country’s economic challenges.
“My duty is to support our party President and the State President in fixing the economic hardships Malawians are going through,” he stated.
Mtambo also dismissed any links to the Human Rights Defenders Coalition (HRDC), stressing that he has had no involvement with the group for years.
