LEWISTON, Maine (WABI/WMTW) - Jordan Wood is ending his U.S. Senate campaign and will now run to be the Democratic nominee for U.S. House in Maine’s 2nd Congressional District, according to an announcement on his campaign website.
Wood’s decision comes a week after incumbent Rep. Jared Golden announced he would not seek reelection for a fifth term, citing threats of political violence, polarization and decrying an “increasingly unproductive” Congress.
The campaign change means that Lewiston native Wood will no longer run against Graham Platner or Gov. Janet Mills in the Democratic Senate primary to challenge Republican Sen. Susan Collins in 2026.
Monday night, Wood told our media partner, WMTW, that he wasn’t ruling out a potential switch and was “encouraged” by the number of people
