At the start of Living Wage Week, Almond Valley MSP Angela Constance has welcomed news that a record 4,000 employers in Scotland are now paying their staff at least the real Living Wage, benefiting around 72,000 workers. ‌

The real Living Wage is calculated according to the actual cost of living and is distinct from the UK Government’s minimum “National Living Wage”. ‌

Employers who pay it do so voluntarily, with the current rate set at £13.45 an hour. ‌
