Nirmit and Karuna Saluja, children of Lal Chand, who was killed in the 2005 Delhi serial blasts, narrowly escaped death on Monday evening when their car passed the Red Fort area just minutes before a high-intensity car explosion claimed at least 10 lives.
The siblings were returning home to Dwarka after visiting an LIC office in Geeta Colony, East Delhi, to resolve pending issues with their late father's insurance policy. They crossed the Lal Qila road where the blast occurred at around the time the blast took place in a slow-moving Hyundai i20 at a traffic signal during peak evening hours, gutting several vehicles and injuring dozens.
