MADISON, Wis. — A familiar winter tradition is returning to the Madison area but with a new name and mission.
ReMitts, known for supplying warm, handmade mittens throughout Dane County, has rebranded as Pantry Partners. The organization says the name change reflects a broader effort to support local food pantries as available wool and fleece donations decline.
Mitten trees are going up at select locations across Madison. Under the updated model, food pantries will now host both events and retail sites, while Pantry Partners continues to provide mittens and dryer balls for distribution.
News 3 Now This Morning visited the Pantry Partners' workshop to see the volunteers in action. The River Food Pantry's Executive Director, Rhonda Adams, also stopped by to talk about the local impact.
