Peace talks between Pakistan and Afghanistan in Istanbul ended without an agreement, with both the sides trading blame for the breakdown in negotiations aimed at easing border tensions and upholding a fragile ceasefire, officials said on Saturday.

Addressing a press conference in Kabul, Mullah Najib, head of the Afghan delegation and Deputy Interior Minister, said that Pakistan was insisting that the Taliban’s Supreme Leader should issue a fatwa against the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
“If Pakistan wants a fatwa, they should send us a written request," said Najib.
