Large parts of Quebec are still recovering after a powerful snowstorm knocked out electricity to hundreds of thousands of residents on Tuesday.
By early Wednesday morning, Hydro-Québec said roughly 72,000 customers remained without power. The most serious outages were reported in Montérégie (28,269), Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean (14,740), Lanaudière (382), and Centre-du-Québec (9,204). In Montreal, fewer than 5,000 homes were still affected.
