DOVER ‒ A celebration of life will be held Nov. 18 for Canton police officer David E. Wolgamott who died Nov. 10 from injuries suffered in a car accident.

Wolgamott, 47, who lived in Dover, was the son of the late David Wolgamott and Jeannie Dobbins Moneypenny, according to an obituary posted online by Toland-Herzig Funeral Homes & Crematory. He graduated from Mogadore High School in 1998, then joined the U.S. Army and served in Bosnia. He stayed in the Army National Guard for years afterward.

For the past 19 years, Wolgamott worked for the Canton Police Department. Earlier, he served with the Strasburg, Bolivar and Lakemore police departments.

"He spent his free time hunting, fishing, and attending his children’s school events," the memorial tribute says.
