Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has approved a proposal for amendments to the Odisha Survey and Settlement Rules, aiming to ease the process of obtaining land titles for buyers.
Officials said the move is likely to benefit many people who have purchased land before the Settlement Operation but are yet to receive the Record of Rights (RoR) in their name. ADVERTISEMENT
Previously, buyers had to appeal to the Board of Revenue or other authorised Revision Courts, which caused prolonged delays due to heavy workloads.
With amendments in the rules, Tehsildars will now be empowered to correct records and issue land land title in the buyer’s name, eliminating the need for lengthy appeals.
