SAN JACINTO COUNTY, Texas (KHOU) - People are still looking for a father who jumped into the Trinity River in Texas on Sunday to save his son and one of his son’s friends after their kayak overturned.
The teens did not survive.
“It is not safe. We have pulled numerous bodies out of that water for nonsense,” Melissa Patterson said.
Patterson and her family identified one of the young men as her nephew, 15-year-old Eric Lynn.
Eric was a freshman at Coldspring-Oakhurst High School.
“He had to grow up pretty quickly because of my medical problems, but he was always happy,” Eric’s father, Rob Lynn said.
Eric’s cousin, Megan Taylor, said the teen had a “big heart for everybody.”
Officials said Eric and his friend were in the river when their kayak overturned.
