CINCINNATI —

A strong solar storm headed toward Earth lit up the skies across the northern half of the country, including in Greater Cincinnati, Tuesday night, with the northern lights being seen across our area.

It was all the buzz on social media, as we were treated to a show normally saved for places well far to our north.

The lights were possible thanks to a coronal mass ejection from the sun that blanketed the Earth with high charged particles interacting with our atmosphere, and that translated to an amazing show of pinks, greens, oranges and reds.
