A new rain warning has been issued for Birmingham as the city was lashed by hours of downpours that caused rush hour chaos.
Key roads in and out of the city centre were gridlocked and bus and train services were hit as the heavy rain that fell overnight continued into this morning, Wednesday, November 12.
The A34 through Perry Barr was particularly badly affected with standing water at the bottom of an underpass that would normally be packed with cars. In the south of the city, a car was pictured stranded in floodwater in Green Road, Hall Green .
