In a major crackdown against the banned organisation Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI), J&K Police on Wednesday conducted raids across the Kashmir valley and seized incriminating documents, electronic devices and printed literature.

Several locations were searched in the districts of Pulwama, Kulgam, Anantnag, Sopore, Awantipura, Ganderbal, Bandipora and Shopian.

A police spokesman said that in a determined effort to curb unlawful activities, J&K Police conducted a series of coordinated raids across the district Pulwama, targeting individuals and premises associated with the proscribed organisation “Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI)”, banned under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
