Penn State’s wrestling dynasty, set to kick off its 2025-26 campaign against Oklahoma in a dual meet on Friday night at Bryce Jordan Center, is expected to put on a show again this season.

Cael Sanderson’s program will be looking for a fifth consecutive NCAA title. The Nittany Lions have won 71 consecutive matches, and they are loaded once again.

Sanderson, who held a media session on Tuesday in State College, was asked about the wrestler who usually gets Penn State off to a fast start in matches, 125-pound sophomore Luke Lilledahl.

Nicknamed “Lightning Luke”, Lilledahl was terrific as a freshman, winning a Big Ten title and taking third in the NCAA tournament.
