Q: Why is my squash blue?

A: There are several possible reasons that your squash is blue. The first thing that comes to mind is the type of seeds planted and their source. If you bought seeds for some other variety of squash but got blue squash, it’s possible that your package of seeds was mislabeled, and you accidentally planted a variety that is supposed to be blue, such as Blue Hubbard or Blue Kabocha.
