Singer-songwriter Sabrina Carpenter will star in and produce an untitled movie musical based on Lewis Carroll’s “Alice in Wonderland” for Universal Pictures, her first major studio film, according to The Hollywood Reporter .
Carpenter’s specific role in the film remains undisclosed, but sources describe the project as “a passion project” for the global pop star, the report said.
Lorene Scafaria will write and direct the feature. Scafaria is best known for writing and directing “Hustlers,” the Jennifer Lopez-starring crime drama, the report said.
