Over the years, Aliquippa has had a plethora of outstanding running backs take the field.
From Rafael Abercrombie in the mid-1980s to Chico Williams in the 1990s to Tikey Hayes just two years ago, the Quips have trotted out some of the finest rushers in WPIAL history.
But when No. 7 Aliquippa (8-3) takes the field Saturday at 12:05 p.m. at Pine-Richland against top-seeded McKeesport (9-3), it won’t be the Quips who have the running back that is expected to carry them to the WPIAL Class 4A championship.
This time it will be up to Aliquippa to figure out how to stop one.
