SOUTH KINGSTOWN — Rhode Island men’s basketball has never lost to Stonehill. And that was never going to change on Tuesday night.
The Rams broke through an early offensive spell and secured its 12 th win against the Skyhawks all-time. Jonah Hinton and Tyler Cochran led all scorers with 16 apiece as Rhode Island (2-1) captured an 80-57 win in front of 3,451 at the Ryan Center on Nov. 11.
It was the first matchup between the two programs since 2006 and the first with Stonehill playing in Division I after they joined the Northeast Conference in 2022.
Rhode Island wasn’t particularly as clean as Archie Miller’s group would hope against Stonehill. The Rams finished shooting just 4-for-19 from beyond the arc and 48.3% from the floor . But after the team’s 82-65 loss to Tulsa last week
