KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) -The University of Nebraska at Kearney begins its fifth annual One Day for UNK fundraising campaign at noon on Wednesday, seeking donations to support student programs across campus.
The 24-hour day of giving supports student scholarships, academic programs, Loper athletics and other campus priorities. Last year’s event brought 2,000 gifts and nearly $290,000 to various programs.
This year’s goals are 2,100 gifts and $500,000.
UNK Chancellor Neal Schnoor said the event is important to students for many reasons.
“They’re our social media experts, so they’re going to hit it really hard starting on Giving Day,” Schnoor said. “It’s really critical for student organizations because student government tries to fund those to the best of their ability. A lot of the organiz
