Mom always said to eat your green beans.

Now, thanks to a Pennsylvania creamery, that request might be a little easier to stomach.

Ripleigh’s Creamery in York County is collaborating with Hanover Foods in Hanover to release a seasonal green bean casserole ice cream flavor in time for Thanksgiving.

Described as a whimsical nod to Thanksgiving, the flavor is made with Hanover’s Cut Green Beans, cream of mushroom soup, hints of black pepper and fried onion curls.

The flavor is part of Ripleigh’s “Double Dog Dare You” series featuring new and unusual releases. It is being scooped at the creamery’s shops in McSherrystown and East York through Nov. 29.
