PHOENIX (AZFamily/AP) — New developments may come soon in the effort to release files related to the late Jeffrey Epstein .
Arizona Rep.-elect Adelia Grijalva will be sworn in on Wednesday after weeks of political discourse. She easily won a special election in Arizona’s 7th Congressional district in September to serve out the remaining term of her late father, Raul Grijalva, who died in March. The election results were certified on Oct. 14.
When the government shutdown began on Oct. 1, House Speaker Mike Johnson, a Republican, said he would hold the swearing-in ceremony only when the government was fully funded.
But this week, Speaker Johnson’s office announced that Grijalva will be sworn in on Wednesday at 2 p.m. Arizona time at the U.S. Capitol.
