SRINAGAR : The Department of Fisheries has successfully raised genetically improved germplasm of Brown Trout imported from Denmark under controlled conditions, marking a significant advancement in fish conservation and aquaculture in Jammu Kashmir. Follow Us On G -N e w s | Whatsapp

As part of the initiative, the department released 20,000 improved Brown Trout fingerlings into the upper reaches of the Sukhnag, Doodganga, and Shaliganga streams in Budgam district. The effort aims to enhance trout production, replenish native fish populations, and improve survival and growth rates in open trout waters across the Union Territory.
