A former Hollyoaks star has been sentenced to over a decade in prison after being convicted of the rape of two women earlier this year.

Rizwan Khan, 40, was found guilty of the offences in August, with the judge also convicting Khan of the sexual assault of one of his victims, as well as slapping a child in the face. These crimes occurred during different incidents.

On Monday, November 11, the actor appeared at Teesside Crown Court, where he was sentenced. He denied all charges against him.

The next day, prosecutor, Robin Turton, read out statements from two of Khan's victims, as one declared she suffered from nightmares and anxiety.

She said: "What he did goes round and round in my head," adding "When I see his face in the newspaper, I feel sick."
