A lorry driver was rushed to hospital after a serious crash on a roundabout in Birmingham .

The lorry overturned on Heybarnes Circus in Small Heath, near Coventry Road and Small Heath Highway, earlier this afternoon (November 12).

The island, near an Asda branch, was blocked for several hours and drivers were urged to avoid the area.

Paramedics treated the male lorry driver at the scene for non-serious injuries.

He was transported to hospital by land ambulance.
