A 20-year-old man has been identified as Marley Gascoine, who was fatally stabbed in St Ann's, Nottingham. His family has expressed their profound grief, describing the loss as "excruciating". Police were alerted to the incident on Abbotsford Drive at 12.50pm on Monday, November 10. Upon arrival, they found Mr Gascoine with serious stab wounds. Despite the efforts of paramedics, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after. A post-mortem examination revealed that he died from a single stab wound to the chest. In a heartfelt tribute, Mr Gascoine's mother shared, "Marley is my first born, and will always hold a special place in my heart. A fantastic son and big brother, grandson and nephew, we will all miss you tremendously. The pain we all feel is indescribable, and, as a mum, there will forever be a piece of my heart missing. I've said a prayer to God to give you the peace you need, to wrap his loving arms around you, until we meet again. I love you." A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder the following day and remains in police custody as investigations continue. Nottinghamshire Police have stated that the victim's family is being supported by specially trained officers and have requested privacy during this difficult time. Detective Chief Inspector Ruby Burrow commented, "Our thoughts remain with Mr Gascoine’s family and friends, and we will continue to support them throughout this investigation. Our extensive investigation is continuing, and we are making good progress with a team of highly skilled detectives working to establish exactly what has happened in order to ensure justice is delivered. Once again I’d like to reassure the community that we do believe this to be an isolated incident and there is no wider risk to the public." Forensic teams were seen focusing on an alleyway adjacent to the overpass on Abbotsford Drive, where a cordon was established. Firefighters were also present, erecting a tarpaulin outside a property at the entrance of the alleyway.
