Edinburgh emergency services have raced to the Cowgate in an ongoing incident.
Locals reported seeing officers and firefighters at the scene from around 2.20pm on Wednesday November 12.
In a video shared on X, a cordon is visible and stretches from outside of the student accommodate on the junction of Blair Street and Cowgate stretching to the House of Gods.
Another cordon has been erected on the other side of Ox 184 by the junction of Guthrie street.
Several police vehicles were on site.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) said they sent several appliances to the scene to assist Police Scotland.
A SFRS spokesperson said: "We received a call at 2.19pm to respond to an incident at the Cowgate, Edinburgh.
"Three appliances and one height appliance were sent to the scene.
