COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - Officers confirmed Wednesday morning that they were responding to a barricaded suspect near a local school.

According to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), the scene is in the 1500 block of Corona Avenue near the Vanguard School.

The school is currently on normal operations, and drop-off is in the school parking lot off Hunter Avenue. The school parking lot is accessible at the intersection of Corona Avenue and Hunter Avenue, police said.

Corona Avenue between Brookside Street and Hunter Avenue is closed while officers respond to the scene.
