The aurora borealis danced in the night skies over Michigan, despite clouds, and more than 20 states Tuesday night, Nov. 11 — and more shimmering lights are on the way Wednesday night, Nov. 12.
Tuesday's impressive display made the northern lights visible as far south as Florida, with social media users nationwide uploading pictures of the stunning views, USA TODAY reported.
NOAA's Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC) predicts a strong northern lights outlook on Wednesday, Nov. 12, as the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration says the aurora could be visible across up to 17 U.S. states, and this time, areas of clear skies over Michigan will allow for optimal viewing.
