Hours before the explosion near Red Fort that killed 12 people and injured several others, the man driving the car that blew off had visited a mosque near the Ram Leela Maidan, a senior official said on Wednesday.
Dr Umar Nabi, an assistant professor at Al-Falah University and suspected to have been driving the car that burst into flames on Monday, had parked the vehicle at the Sunehri Masjid parking lot around 3:19 pm, the officer said.

Prior to the blast, Nabi went to the mosque on Asaf Ali Road, close to Ram Leela Maidan, and is said to have remained there for nearly three hours, offering namaz during the stay.
