HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. (WXIX) - A Northern Kentucky man who lived with his wife’s corpse in the home for several days while concealing her death was sentenced to prison Wednesday morning.
Tyler Hern was sentenced to 15 months in prison and ordered to pay court fees after it was determined that he lived with his wife, Laura’s, decaying body for more than a week before calling 911.
Hern was charged with abuse of a corpse for failing to notify authorities of her death.
Police said they were unable to determine exactly when the woman died, but they believed she had been dead for seven to 10 days.
According to reports, Hern called 911 on Feb. 3 requesting an ambulance because his 37-year-old wife, Laura, was dead.
