: Opposition parties held a crucial meeting on Wednesday evening at old Assembly campus in Guwahati to chalk out their strategy for the upcoming 2026 Assembly polls in Assam.

The oposition parties including the Congress, AJP, Raijor Dal, CPI(M), Anchalik Gana Morcha and others participated in the meeting.

Speaking to reporters, AICC in-charge for Assam, Jitendra Singh said, “Today, we had a meeting with all our alliance partners in which we discussed various issues. We have decided that together we will fight alongside the people of Assam,”.

“We will take on the government of Himanta Biswa Sarma and the Bharatiya Janata Party, which has been working to undermine Assam’s interests,” Singh said.
