Warren County recognized 47 wartime veterans during its 18th Veterans Recognition ceremony on Nov. 8, at the Warren County War Memorial.
The Warren County Board of County Commissioners joined the Warren County War Memorial Corporation to commemorate Veterans Day and honor those who served in the United States military during times of conflict.
The recognition brings the total number of war era veterans honored to 2,265 people since the program began in 2003 with an award to Julius Hausold, who was Warren County’s last surviving World War I soldier at age 108.
Five veterans were recognized posthumously this year, with family members accepting medals on their behalf.
