CALHOUN COUNTY, MI — Police took action to stop a wrong-way driver on I-69, the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office said.

Around 2 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, deputies were called to the area of northbound I-69 near I-94 on multiple reports of a vehicle traveling north in the southbound lanes.

Deputies nearby quickly found the vehicle near Mile Marker 40 and attempted to stop it.

After several unsuccessful attempts, police deployed “stop sticks” three times, successfully deflating all four tires.

The vehicle kept moving at about 15 miles per hour. Deputies maneuvered in front of the vehicle and brought it to a stop near mile marker 53 in Eaton County, the sheriff’s office said.
