When you have been very, very good, do you reward yourself? Just a little something.
It can be edible, collectible or memorable. You know, “I’ve been right on schedule today, gotten my whole ‘to-do’ list done, so I’m going to have a piece of cake after dinner.” Right up to “I took my mother on a Caribbean cruise, I am so buying myself that new golf cart.”
That sort of thing.
How many of us have promised ourselves, “When I lose that next 6 pounds, I’m going to go and try on that cool pair of Michael Kors shoes”? Or something goofy that we don’t usually indulge ourselves in: a new exotic-type of goldfish, a beer club we have wanted to try? Does that make the pounds come off easier or quicker? Not that I’ve noticed.
