A mother is calling for a new skatepark as a Cambridgeshire city is “lacking something for teenagers and young people”. The current skatepark in Ely has become an “anti-social behaviour hotspot” over the years, according to mum-of-two Sally Cake.

As a result, young people are having to travel further to access a skatepark, as Sally said Ely's is currently in an unsuitable condition. Sally has launched a petition for a new skatepark in Ely.

She said a new skatepark is “long overdue” and is needed as she “doesn’t want kids to be addicted to screens”. She added: “The current skatepark is not great. It doesn’t serve the whole community, meaning a lot of other people have to travel to skateparks like Haddenham or further away.
