A troubling road incident involving Punjab Police escort vehicles has come to light after a retired senior army officer shared his experience on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday.
Lieutenant General D S Hooda (Retd), who previously served as the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Indian Army's Northern Command, reported that his vehicle was deliberately struck by a police escort jeep on the Zirakpur flyover at approximately 4 pm while he was driving with his wife.
According to Lt Gen Hooda's account, two Punjab Police jeeps were escorting a VIP towards Ambala when they approached from behind with sirens activated. The retired general stated he slowed his vehicle to allow the convoy to pass through the heavy traffic on the busy flyover.
