The current government shutdown is having a huge effect across many sectors, especially air travel. Travelers are facing 3-hour TSA lines in airports , and daily flights have been cut due to air traffic control safety concerns.

I was a TSA officer during the last government shutdown (from December 22nd, 2018, to Jan 25th, 2019), and it's never easy for any government employee. But I think "essential" government employees have an added layer of stress during a government shutdown. A government job is supposed to be a "stable" and "secure" job, but during a shutdown, it doesn't feel like it at all.
