AMHERST COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) - Virginia State Police are investigating a motorcycle crash that killed one person Sunday, November 9, 2025.

The crash occurred on Elon Rd. in Amherst County.

Police say 30-year-old Dakota B. Fitzgerald of Madison Heights was driving a Harley Davidson motorcycle west on Elon Rd., a quarter mile east of Cloudcroft Dr., when he lost control while trying to pass another vehicle.

Troopers say he died at the scene.
